...is one of creative design, digital media, and integrated marketing solutions.

Paradigm Marketing & Creative (aka Paradigm Productions, LLC) was founded in 1992 in Memphis, Tennessee while the interactive marketing, computer graphics, internet, and digital media industries were in their infancy.

We often work with companies that have similar DNA to ours – they don’t quite fit within their industry – nor do they want to. They want to be different and embrace the opportunities and challenges that brings. We can relate. We are different in our approach, our studio structure, and our breadth of services.

With our boutique approach, we listen and we ask questions. Our use of digital media, web, interactive, and focused brand strategies and solutions are not commonly found within the same firm. By controlling all aspects of the message, we are able to provide creative, comprehensive, and consistent stories. Find out why this is beneficial to you.

design/build approach

______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Your needs aren't like everyone else's, so we don't treat them the same. Each project is unique and so is our approach. We aren’t reactionary, we are proactive. Throughout the process we are constantly pushing to better understand your needs, your audience and your goals. Results matter.

The Blueprint - We will ask detailed questions about the product, service, usage, audience, feel/style and your competition. This allows us to craft the story accurately so the project/collateral is not solely a pretty façade. Benefit – We start at the core of your product/service and help you discover if and how you are really different from competitors. Aligns key personnel / stakeholders.

The Foundation - We then build from The Blueprint. The Foundation clearly defines the story and messaging and guides all marketing. Benefit – Develops clear game plan and a clear story that aligns with the blueprint conclusions. This includes internal and external strategies.

The Framing - Following The Foundation we develop the initial idea(s); nothing canned or reused, but The Framing crafted specifically for you. Remember, you’re unique. Benefit – Internal planning and development of the brand identity, associated graphics and marketing campaigns - all in clear alignment with Blueprint/Foundation.

The Façade - These are the elements that must wrap The Framing by staying on the message. The Façade must be comprehensive, consistent and compelling. Benefit – External perception/reception by the intended audiences through the production of the visual and written messaging and communications.

Maintenance - The Framing and The Façade are constantly reviewed against real-world analytics and adjusted to improve performance. Benefit – Maximizes the effectiveness of the budget and market share. Allows for adjustments or additions to messaging based on new opportunities.

At the conclusion of the Blueprint and Foundation phases, a printed messaging and action plan is provided. Depending upon the scope of the project it includes:

Chief Idea Architect (CIA) / President

bios

_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Charles has more than 24 years of design and marketing experience and a love that he developed as a child for creative solutions. Just ask his parents about his ability to escape or create wild designs as a kid (similar to the guy on “Prison Break”…hmm). Upon graduation in 1988, he left the bayous of Louisiana for the much less humid Memphis. He founded Paradigm in 1992 as a side business and in 2000 left his career as a successful project architect/designer to focus all of his attention on Paradigm. Charles’ primary functions include creative direction, branding/envisioning, project story development, marketing integration, writing, photography, illustration, and brand-scaping (aligning marketing with a physical environment).

Charles’ work has been featured in a wide variety of national publications and highlighted via numerous awards over the years. He’s worked with clients in 43 states and 7 countries to date. He also serves in a variety of community and service roles:

  • Groups and Associations:

  • • American Advertising Federation
  • • International Academy of Visualization Arts
  • • Louisiana Tech University – College of Architecture Advisory Panel
  • • Christian Psychological Center – Board Member
  • • Uganda Bible Institute – International Board of Trustees
  • • SIOR Memphis Chapter -Member
  • • American Institute of Architects - former
  • • Urban Land Institute - former member
  • Volunteer Work:

  • • Memphis Thunder Aquatic Club
  • • Religious: Second Presbyterian Church - Sunday School Teacher, Senior High Helper, Student Ministries Committee, Building Committee, Deacon, Support Ministries, Uganda Mission Trip Leader
  • • ADDY Judge
  • • Davy Awards Judge
  • • W3 Judge (International Academy of Visual Arts)
  • • Silver Telly Awards Council Judge

What I like most about my job: Being allowed to play foosball by my employees (doesn’t happen often). Helping clients discover opportunities to differentiate themselves through creative and holistic solutions. Working with a creative and caring group every day while doing our best to have a positive influence on those we come in contact with.

Other enjoyments: Time with the family at Rosemary Beach (30A rules!); insane variety of music styles; Louisiana sports (LSU/LaTech/Saints); mountain biking; and annoying Mac lovers with my Android tablet and phone.

Favorite Quote: Peace. It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

katie breyer

Copywriter/Power-kicker
Katie has a natural knack for anything English-related. She went to the University of Memphis and obtained a degree concentrated in public relations, but quickly found out her real passion is in journalism. A self-proclaimed grammar nerd, she assists in writing, editing and proofing almost everything Paradigm produces. She’s also become the in-house spell-checker, just don’t ask her to add, multiply, or divide anything.

What I like most about my job: Editing everything! I like that I can contribute with something I’ve always been told I’m good at. I also like learning about all of the clients (esp. in Memphis) that I didn’t know about.

Other enjoyments: Playing soccer, kickboxing, MUSIC, volunteering at the animal shelter, traveling, painting, anthroponymy (study of names), anything that pushes me athletically.

Favorite Quote: "You are exactly where you need to be."

michael ganda

___________________________________

Big Brand Leader
Michael’s a marketing master and brand developer by day, hobby musician by night. When he’s not writing and recording music, Michael’s working with clients hands-on to help them identify what makes them different and how to make their message resonate with the audience. Having a mix of schooling from The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing, and a previous career working with talented artists at sports & performance arts marketing firm IMG gives him a diverse mix of experience that allows him to provide a unique approach to every client’s project.

What I like most about my job: Being able to use creative problem solving in order to help clients improve their marketing and business. Also, having a great work environment (and the foosball table doesn’t hurt).

Other enjoyments: Anything that involves music - from writing and recording, to playing or just listening. I am also a huge dog lover (not just huge dogs, but all kinds).

Favorite Quote: "Art is never finished, only abandoned."

Graphic/Web Designer/Vintage Junkie
A lover of all things vintage and creative, Lauren pours her talent and personality into every project she touches. Whether she’s designing a logo, website or multiple campaign elements, Lauren’s vibrant style shines through. Her background in graphic design and marketing, along with her length of experience, combine to give her a multifaceted approach to design in any type of media. When she’s not hard at work, Lauren is coming up with creative ideas for her jewelry company and is thinking up fun, fresh ideas to brighten the home she shares with her husband Garrig.

What I like most about my job: Being around other creative people and developing effective design solutions for clients. I love working with a vast array of clients. We get a ton of VERY different clients at Paradigm, and that makes it more fun. Every day is different.

Other Enjoyments: Music festivals, biking, running, (any good workout), oysters, dark chocolate, sarcasm, last minute adventures, creative typography, happy hour, underground antique shops.

Favorite Quote: "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes you might find you get what you need."

Project Manager/Artistic Genius
Ted’s day-to-day management of all aspects of a project is client response-driven and very effective. His job is filled with marketing and design diversity, and encompasses understanding and respect for unique perspectives and opinions. Ted’s goal is to relate to a client and provide suggestions based on personal experience and expertise. In addition to his project management experience, Ted was previously a senior 3D animator who contributed to courtroom atmospheres and the U.S. Navy. Ted’s also a key 3D animator in the firm, who additionally uses his artistic talents in photography and videography.

Other enjoyments: I love hanging out with my wife and daughters. I’m a husband, father of two, dog walker, and a "canvas junkie", but I have no time for creative brainstorming /painting right now, as life outside of work revolves around middle school homework and U10 " U12 girls soccer practice and games.

Favorite Quote: "Hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies."

Jason left his home in Ohio to join Paradigm in 2004 and has since worked on a wide variety of projects creating quality work and telling clients’ stories. As a self-taught artist, Jason is well-known in the CG art community and has work featured in a variety of publications. He has a strong passion for creative design and loves helping clients bring their ideas to life.

What I like most about my job: Working on new and different projects from week to week. I like working in a creative field where I can use my talents and keep progressing. The laid back office environment and the people I get to work with every day.

Other enjoyments: Frosties, gibsons donuts, photography, 3d art, video, bike riding, Memphis, creativity, good movies, good food.

Favorite quote: "Observation is key."

allen bussell

Project Manager/Nouveau Nerd
Being the oldest member of the team doesn't mean being behind in the latest software and gadgets. Allen's passion for learning new information and pushing limits has helped Paradigm stay near the cutting edge in both rendering technologies and web and social movements. The many years of experience as a submariner in the Navy and then as a Land Planner enables Allen to approach challenges with both doggedness and attention to detail.

What I like most about my job: The people. There's not a better team anywhere on earth. A cauldron filled with passion, knowledge and a dash of humble combine to make an unequaled and tasty talent soup.

Other enjoyments: I love to walk, read, photograph - wanting, in the end, to enrich my mind beyond the confines of the normal and mundane.

Favorite quote: "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another."

…Their team is quick and efficient, and we have been extremely impressed with their unique ability to view a project from an architect’s perspective, …The level of detail they put into each project rendering is amazing, and really makes our project designs come to life in their photo-realism.
Mark Weaver Senior Partner, Hnedak Bobo Group

Our organization was having a high success rate of growing business through “word of mouth” but we weren’t experts at generating business through “branding”. Paradigm provided a critical business solution for our company by analyzing our market environment and then crystallizing our messaging. Not only did the Paradigm process provide a sense of relief (by simplifying our message), but it also provided clarity, focus and the unexpected added benefit of confidence. I would highly recommend Paradigm to any organization that is serious about creating impact and results.
Todd Zaugg President, Matrix Achievement Solutions

… Charles and his staff clearly “get it” when it comes to the creative and design work for my restaurant business, saving me the time and guess work and enabling me to focus on my operation. The Paradigm team never fails to get me the creative work on time with a unique touch, and best of all... it fits my brand! It’s nice to assign a task and walk away knowing a true professional is going to deliver.

Southern College of Optometry was proud to partner with Paradigm Marketing & Creative when we needed multimedia visuals to announce a new building program to our alumni and the local community. We were very impressed with paradigm’s creativity and willingness to work quickly with us to meet deadlines. More than that, their contributions helped us communicate a specific story we were hoping to share through dynamic visuals and a short video production. Paradigm was critical to the success of our effort to tell the latest chapter in our college’s 80-year history.

Charles Gaushell and his team have been very thorough and professional throughout the process of discovery and design of our imagery and messaging. As we reached a point of agreement on the design, the Paradigm team was both timely and expeditious in delivering materials for our first presentations. Their creative ability is one their biggest strengths, as our imagery now has a personality of quality and clarity. Flexibility can also be counted amongst their strong traits, as in the evolution of ideas surrounding the birth of our brand, the Paradigm team was both accepting of our guidance and returned with options that were both clever and beyond our vision. I would recommend the team as a strong and reliant group, with a strong work ethic.
Yale Spina Director of Operations, RVC Outdoor Destinations
